Our breeding program is one centered around preserving the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel.  What does that mean regarding puppies?

It means that we breed to promote the health and longevity of cavaliers--and that we often keep the puppies who promise to best fit the breed standard, have fabulous health, and temperaments that reflect the loving, sweet temperament of Cavaliers. our girls when they are 2 1/2 and only if they have their hearts and eyes cleared annually.  We also only breed girls with parents who were clear of eye disease, have not had heart murmurs before the age of five, and who are dna tested and negative for dry eye, curly coat and episodic falling.  If we have puppies available, after we select our next generation at eight weeks of age, we place puppies in homes that are the best fit for a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel.  Sometimes we use our own boys when they are health cleared and we know their parents were health clear up to a minimum age of five.  Sometimes we work with reputable breeders we know and respect because their boy may have qualities we want to in our line.  We try our best to locate the best possible sire in an effort to make every generation better than the previous generation.

What we are not:  we are not a breeder where you can "shop" for a puppy. We have an application and a vetting process.  Our selected puppy parents often wait three months to two years for their Evera True Puppy.  Sometimes girls do not get pregnant, or a girl may have only one or two puppies.  That's nature, and it's not easy to predict how many puppies we will have available to place.

We also believe that your breeder should be available for the life of your Cavalier--which we hope is a very long time.  We want our puppy parents to feel free to reach out to us if they have any questions, concerns, or just want to chat. We also want to know if any of our puppies experience health issues, so we can maintain detailed records for posterity.

Carrot Snuffle Mat

I had the new carrot snuffle mat delivered this week to test its appeal and durability.  I could be happier with this purchase.  For less than $30, this toy is providing hours of fun for our dogs—young and old.  I put one treat below each carrot, but varied the flavors to provide extra stimulation.   I definitely recommend this interactive toy from Fookens. A link is included here.  Disclaime:  We make a few pennies if you purchase through this Amazon Associate link.
